Leadership and activism: creating platforms for change
Throughout my career, I have been actively engaged in various organizations and initiatives that aim to empower communities, advocate for equality, and drive positive social change. From serving on prestigious boards to leading grassroots campaigns, my experiences have shaped my passion for making a difference in the world.

Experience Highlights

01

Advocating for Global Change

Currently, I have the privilege of serving as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Foundation’s Board. In this role, I actively contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the organization, where I am dedicated to shaping a better future for young people worldwide. Additionally, I am honored to be part of the UNDP Youth Sounding Board, where I contribute to the development and implementation of strategies aimed at empowering and supporting responsible and committed youth for present and future generations.

02

Empowering African Women Leaders

As one of the founding members and coordinator of the African Women’s Leaders Network (AWLN) – Kenyan Chapter, I am deeply committed to advocating for inclusivity and addressing gender-based violence. Through mentoring young women leaders, I strive to inspire and empower the next generation of African women to take on leadership roles and make a lasting impact in their communities.

03

Fostering Youth Engagement and Empowerment

As the community champion for the Global Shapers Community in Eastern and Central Africa, I actively promoted youth engagement, empowerment, and leadership. I believe that by providing young people with the right opportunities and resources, we can unlock their potential to become powerful agents of change.

04

Impactful Community Initiatives

In my pursuit of community development and empowerment, I am proud to have established the first community library at the foot of Mount Kenya. This initiative grants access to knowledge and digital resources, ensuring that learning opportunities are accessible to all. Additionally, my efforts led to the setup of an ICT center at Kinoo Girls School, empowering young girls with modern technology and STEM education opportunities, thus bridging the gender gap in STEM fields.

05

Responding to Global Challenges

I am committed to being an active participant in shaping policies and advocating for youth-led solutions. As part of the African Youth Front on Coronavirus by the Africa Union, I contributed to Africa’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, my involvement in the Implementation Committee for the Northern Corridor Internet for All Project targeting Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan & Rwanda allowed me to play a vital role in fostering collaborations and driving positive change.

06

Environmental Advocacy

I initiated and led the impactful #SAVEOURFORESTSKE online campaign, raising awareness about the destructive impact on Mount Kenya Forest and The Aberdares, two crucial water towers in Kenya. By rallying communities together, we can protect our natural resources and preserve our planet for future generations.

07

Pioneering Post-Pandemic Youth Recovery

I am proud to have contributed to the development of The Davos Lab Youth Recovery Plan, a pioneering effort aimed at post-pandemic youth recovery. As the spearhead of the Digital Access Pillar within the Davos Lab Taskforce, I ensured equitable access to digital resources and opportunities for young people, paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future
